More Comics

Stuff is beginning to move a long nicely. We still don't have our goal of 30 creators but it will happen soon enough. I just want to let everyone know, my comic company Monocle Comics is currently accepting comic book submissions! Here are the details!

Monocle Comics is a new comic book company that is accepting submissions for writers, pencilers, inkers, colorists and letterers.

Here are the guidelines

Writers:
Give us 5 scripted pages with a beginning, middle, and end. Also, give us a 1 page synopsis of your story as well as all character descriptions in the story. Let us know the format you think your comic would be best formatted in (mini series, on going, black and white, color, etc).

Pencilers:
Draw us 5 pages of sequential art. We need to be able to see a story progressing. Do not ink it or color it.

Inkers:
Give us 2 pages of inked sequential art and 1 cover inked that you have done.

Colorist:

Give us 2 pictures that you have colored. A pin up or cover and 1 page of sequential art colored.

Letterers:

Give us 3 pages lettered by you.

For everyone submitting please give us:

Interest and Updates

Hey guys!

I wanna thank everybody who is interested in ICA. This could turn out to be a really great organization for indie comic creators. We still need a lot more people to get this thing going. Our goal is to launch this in the next 4 - 5 months.

Also, I'm thinking about doing interviews and news for the indie crowd so check back in every so often. If you would like to be interviewed or think that it's a good idea please email me at indycomicadverts@gmail.com

AND!

Keep checking Blacksnakestudios.com for more comics for cancer updates!

Comic Creators

All right! Now's the time for us to get a few comic book creators signed up! If you have any interest please read the information on the side and send me an e-mail at indycomicadverts@gmail.com and I'll be sure to get back to you. Again, this program will not work until we get enough creators. With more creators comes more comic shops so help out by signing up. I will get a more automated sign up form up soon!

Comic Shops!

Alright! We're starting small but we gotta start somewhere. We have 5 shops that we will be sending to for now. Criminal Records, Oxford Comics (two locations), Odins Comics and Colosseum of Comics. All in the south east.

For this to work we need comic book creators! This organization works by getting the indy crowd to work together. With more creators, we can get more shops to be put in. With more creators there is more comics for everyone to advertise in. This can only work with enough creators. I'm looking for about 30 or so! Please comment and/or email indycomicadverts@gmail.com if you are a creator and have ANY interest in the program. We are trying to roll out the program wtihin the next 3-5 months earlier if possible!

Pay change

Alright, as I am looking for places to ship and shipping fees we now have a different pay plan (which may change depending on a few variables). For now, I'm changing the fee from $5 a year and $5 a month for ads, to $2 a month and $3 a month for ads. This is still a very cheap, and if you were planning on getting ads each month originally, this is essentially doing the same with having to pay the set up fee.

For those of you whom I have spoke with about it being $5 a year already, we can work out a plan to compensate.

Again, this is all tentative until the organization is in full swing and I have enough confirmed creators and comic shops.

Thank You!

Interested in signing up?

If you are interested in signing up for ICA please email IndyComicAdverts@gmail.com as the sign up form is not active yet. This will only work if we get some comic book creators in on this. Some comic shops have agreed to the program and are expecting indie comics at their door step in the next couple of months!

Indy Comic Adverts

Independent comic creators we need you! ICA is an organization that gets independent comics into comic book stores.

How?
Independent comic book creators like yourself send in at least 1 comic book that the comic shop can give away for free (or in some cases they will sell and keep the profit). It is a very small price to pay to get into stores. After that, each month they will get a comic from us. If they see a particular comic is doing particularly well, and if they request it, they can purchase more than one comic directly from you the creator.

Cost?
Only $5 a year! This helps mainly with shipping costs

Advertising?
You can send you comics for free each month after the yearly fee or you can advertise in other comics. Anytime you want an add in another comic you pay $5 for that month. This is something that is recommended for all. It's advertising to people who may have not gotten your comic which is invaluable.

We need independent comic book creators. If you are at all interested in this please e-mail Indy Comic Adverts !
